Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30 June 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Afir ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on this recruitment website (the "Site"). It should be read together with our processing of personal data collected through the application form. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR"), the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC (as implemented in the country where the user is located), and equivalent UK rules (UK GDPR and PECR).

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these technologies.

3. Cookies we use

We deliberately keep our use of cookies to an absolute minimum. This Site does not use analytics, advertising, profiling, social media, or third-party tracking cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent under the ePrivacy Directive because they are essential for a function you explicitly requested (recording your cookie preference). All other uses of cookies would require your prior, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent — and we do not set any.

4. No third-party tracking

We do not embed third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics), advertising pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads), heatmap tools, A/B testing tools, social media share buttons that load remote scripts, or any other third-party tracker. If this changes, we will update this policy and request your consent in advance via the cookie banner.

5. Technical data processed by our hosting provider

When you visit the Site, our hosting and infrastructure providers may process limited technical data (such as IP address, request time, user agent) for the strict purpose of delivering the website, ensuring security, and preventing abuse. This is not done through cookies but through standard server logs. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure service. Logs are kept for the shortest period necessary.

6. Application form data

When you submit an application, the data you provide (name, contact details, CV, and the information in your message) is sent by email to our recruitment inbox via our email delivery provider. This is a separate processing activity from cookies. The lawful basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in evaluating candidates (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Application data is retained only for as long as needed to assess your candidacy and, where applicable, the legally required minimum afterwards.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction or deletion of your data;
  • Object to or restrict processing;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis;
  • Data portability;
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@afir.fi.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

You can delete the consent entry we store at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain. The banner will then reappear on your next visit and you can choose again. Most browsers also let you block all cookies and local storage — note that this may degrade the experience on websites that rely on them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Site, our providers, or the law. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
